5 minutes at the pond
To the west among the cat tails standing still
A heron looking for breakfast.
To the south a big bass flies out of the water
His mouth open wide landing with a big bass
Size splash.
To the east a mama mallard leads a parade
Of ducklings zigzagging through the water.
Up above several swallows dive bomb the pond
Snatching bugs leaving concentric circles
Flowing outward on the still water.
To the north a man and his blue eyed husky
Sense doors wide open
Taking in the whole show.
